HELLO!
I'm Anshuman Acharya, a Postdoctoral Fellow at BCCP (Berkeley Center for Cosmological Physics), UC Berkeley. Here I am working with Dr. Simone Ferraro as part of the "Learning the Universe" collaboration to infer properties of physical models of our Universe from kSZ/tSZ maps and galaxy surveys using the Simulation-Based Inference pipeline LtU-ILI.
I'm also part of the LOFAR Epoch of Reionization (EoR) team, where I model this period of the Universe when the first stars and galaxies formed, focusing on jointly modelling galaxy-scale physics in large Intergalactic Medium (IGM) simulations. These models are crucial for data interpretation from the upcoming SKA-Low telescope. I am also leading the development of Machine-Learning-Based mass super-resolution in these IGM simulations, to quantify the impact of mini-halos and dwarf galaxies on EoR observables.
Before this, I completed my PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics in Germany with Dr. Benedetta Ciardi and Prof. Volker Springel, and my integrated BS-MS in physics at IISER Mohali, India.
